National Maternity Experience Survey

The overall purpose and objective of the National Care Experience Programme is to engage with and understand the experience of patients and use this feedback to inform the future development, planning, design and delivery of patient-centred care. The target population for the National Maternity Experience Survey includes women aged 16 or over who have given birth in specific months and who hold a postal address in the Republic of Ireland. The National Care Experience Programme will undertake a dedicated survey for women who experience a negative maternity outcome such as a miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death in 2022 https://yourexperience.ie/maternity-bereavement/about-the-survey/ **Purpose:** The National Care Experience Programme asks people about their experiences of care in order to improve the quality of health and social care services in Ireland. All nineteen maternity units/hospitals and the HSE National Home Births Services participate in the National Maternity Experience Survey. **Coverage:** National. The National Maternity Experience Survey commenced in 2019 and will be conducted every two-three years and in alternate years to the National Maternity Bereavement Experience Survey.
